Melanie & Hayden’s Perth Wedding Photography
There is nothing more joyful than photographing a wedding and the story behind it, and Melanie Bowater and Hayden Wetton’s nuptials were no exception. Witnessing the sweet nervousness and excitement, the joy of finally saying “I do,” and the celebration amongst family and friends was a truly exceptional experience, and capturing these moments through photography is what truly makes my job as a wedding photographer, so much fun.
When I first met Melanie and Hayden, I was struck by their commitment to one another and their excitement for the big day. And on Saturday, November 16th 2013 I was lucky enough to witness that excitement and commitment come to fruition.
We started the day on Caxton Road in Claremont, where I began the wedding photography process by snapping photos of the beautiful bride getting ready alongside her mother and bridesmaids. From there we travelled to Minim Cove Park along Downey Drive, settling at Mosman Park, where we were greeted with amazing sunshine. With a backdrop of nearly neon blue skies, I was able to capture the most important moment of the day: when Melanie and Hayden committed their lives to one another.
I finished the wedding photography at the reception, held in the incomparable Clarement Yacht Club aboard a stunning vessel. The elation and support of Hayden and Melanie’s families and friends was palpable, and the excitement of the bride and groom was so easy to photograph.
As a wedding photographer, it is these types of experiences and moments that I live for, and I am truly grateful that Melanie and Hayden invited me along for the journey.
